To foster Evidence-Based Management, ProAct makes it easy to analyse any
practice. The flexible Practice Analysis Report Writer provides over 800 different configurations of data. Users can
pick any time period and can report in a variety of ways, such as:
- The number of occurrences
(e.g. how many times on-call staff were called into work).
- The number of hours
(e.g. the
hours of inservice education provided).
- The number of FTEs
(e.g. the
FTEs of agency staff used).
- The headcount
(e.g. the
number of staff who will be on duty for the hospital picnic or sausage
sizzle in order to determine the amount of food to
buy).
- Dollars
(e.g. the cost of
overtime).
- Leave
types (e.g. amount of
sick leave).
To further finetune the analysis, ProAct provides the ability to filter
the data to look at certain:
- Positions
(e.g. the overtime
of medical staff interns versus residents, sick leave of Food Service
staff versus Dieticians).
- Groups
(e.g. the hours from
preferred/less costly agencies compared with the non-preferred/more
costly agencies, sick leave for
part-time versus full-time staff).
- By shift
(e.g. the
availability of casual relief pool staff by shift, total 1:1 patient
care by shift).
- Reasons
for staffing
decisions (e.g. the reason that agency staff was used, who
OK’d the overtime, whether a sick call was replaced
or not).
- Day
of Week (e.g. whether
overtime due to missed meal breaks occurs more frequently on weekdays
or weekends, which days have more
relief staff available and for what shifts).
